City Equity Theatre Hits the Stage

Local actors Jonathan Fuller and Alan Gardner are creating some serious drama in town.

“Singing in the Rain” and “Summer Lovin’” may be catchy tunes, but Birmingham needs an injection of more serious, thought-provoking theatre. At least that’s the opinion expressed by local actors Alan Gardner and Jonathan Fuller, founders of the city’s newest theatre. City Equity Theatre is dedicated to providing union or “Equity” actors a place to practice and enhance their skills onstage. In May it set up shop downtown in a new costume co-op on Third Avenue North. Continue reading
